Kerrigan, Moel Leslie, Barry Macollum, Helen MacKellar, Percy Waram…author Philpott’s achievements of artistic consequence, results of first play in America not very satisfactory, even though Helen McKellar again evidenced her rights to stardom as a versatile and winsome actress, Dallas Welford at his best; “Partners Again” by Montague Glass and Jules Eckert Goodman at Selwyn with Lee Kohlmer, Alex Carr, Barney Bernard, Cameron Clemens, Mabel Carruthers, Louis Kimball, James Spottiswood, Jennie Moscovitz, John Dwyer…gale of laughter on opening night, old stuff of course but good stuff, Barney Bernard can be funnier with a serious face than any comedian, oddities deliciously portrayed by Alex Carr and Barney Bernard; farce “Lady Bug” by Frances Nordstrom” at Apollo featuring Fleming Ward, Lily Tashman, Leon Gordon, Leila Frost, John Cumberland, Hilda Vaughn, Denman Maley, Marie Nordstrom, Ed Poland, Ida Fitzhugh…author believing a farce with a good germ of an idea need not deliver good dialogue , situations, and solid general structure, John Cumberland with dry and quiet humor works hard, Marie Nordstrom catches exceedingly well the spirit of her character; “The Adventure of Kate” by Annie Nathan Meyer at Ritz with Maud Sinclair, Gardner James, Leslie Austen, Fay Courteney, Byron Beasley, Mary Boland, Helen gill, Peggy Doran, Mrs. Thomas Whiffen…author took an old idea and made a new and interesting comedy, First honors to Mrs. Thomas Whiffen as charming and attractive, Mary Boland’s artistic excellence are assured by a fine performance; “Russian Grand Opera at New Amsterdam Theatre; “Kempy” by J. c. Nugent and Eliott Nugent at Belmont Theatre with Ruth Nugent, J. C. Nugent, Jessie Crommette, Helen Carew, Lotus Robb, Robert Lee Allen, Elliott Nugent, Grant Mitchell…quite a palatable little comedy, admirably acted by the Nugent family; Grant Mitchell and Lotus Robb also add joy to the capable cast; “The Bronx Express” at the Astor starring Chas Coburn, Bertha Creighton, Hope Sutherland, Mrs. Coburn…splurged on large production which may not bring large returns since not a good play, both Coburns are badly miscast; the Charlatan” by Leonard Praskins and Ernest Pascal at Times Square Theatre featuring Wm Ingersoll, Crauford Kent, Lewis Broughton, Flo Johns, Fania Marinoff, Fred Tiden, Olive Wyndham, Margaret Dale, Purnell Pratt, Ed Powers…despite being a mystery play the mystery should not continue after the last curtain has dropped; “The Night Call” by Adeline Hendricks at Frazee with Elsie Rizer, Chas Trowbridge, Helen Lowell, Jay Hanna, Nellie Burt, Didson Mitchell, Earle Mitchell, Brandon Hurst, Wells Spalding…handicapped by ones gone before, Elsie Rizer continually offends, Chas Trowbridge exercises commendable restraint; “the Goldfish” by Gladys Unger at Maxine Elliott Theatre with Lucille LaVerne, Norma Mitchell, Marjorie Rambeau, Wilfred Lytell, Wilton Lackaye, Ben Hendricks, Rhy Derby, John De Silva, Robert T. Haines, John Robb, Dennis Cleughs…French play done into a hash, but does bring Marjorie Rambeau back to stage, she reaches a stride that lends charm if not plausibility to her character; “Go Easy, Mabel” by Charles George at Longacre with Will Deming, Estelle Winwood, Ethel Levey, James C. Marlowe, Margaret Dumont, Russ Mack, Art Aylesworth, Eileen Van Biene…versatile Estelle Winwood’s fine talent wasted on unutterable piffle, a stock musical that should never have left stock; “Billeted
    “ by F. Tennyson Jesse and H. M. Harwood at Greenwich Village comedy featuring Mary Hughes, Sally Williams, Harold Vizard, Selena Royle, Lois Bolton, Lumsden Hare, Marshall Vincent, H. Langdon Bruce, Kate Mayhew…successful vehicle for Margaret Anglin, this revival under direction of Grace Griswold ia also a thoroughly fine one in all its respects, four leading players work together with utmost skill; “The Red Geranium” by Ruth M. Woodward at Princess with Wm Rainey, Flo Rittenhouse, Mary Ricard, Eleanor Coates, Rob Adams, Marion Lord, Kirah Markham, Mary Donnelly, Ben Kauser, Don Bethune, Frank Andrews, Mina Gleason, Ed Fetbroth…Greenwich Village stands for everything amateurish and this play is typical with weak structure and amateurish way of entire cats,
