As the spiritual successor to the revered E-Type of 1961-74, Jaguars new XK8 debuted at the 1996 British Motor Show. Internally designated X100, the XK8 clearly paid homage to the revered E-Type/XKE and enjoyed immediate success, remaining in production with select updates until 2005. Available in sleek Coupe and sexy Convertible body styles, the XK8 was powered by Jaguars latest AJ-V8 engine displacing 4.0 liters, mated to an automatic gearbox with J-gate shift pattern. Following in the tradition of the long-running prior XJS in fact built around its predecessors floor plan, the XK8 featured a stiffer, yet lighter, structure with construction utilizing aircraft technologies. Styling of the XK8 remains influential, itself decidedly reminiscent of the E-Type.
In May 1998, the high-performance XKR variant debuted, in both Coupe and Convertible body styles. Powered by a supercharged version of the AJ-V8 engine delivering 370 factory-rated horsepower, the XKR also ushered in a new Mercedes-supplied 5-speed automatic gearbox. Nearly 10 per cent more powerful than the old Jaguar V-12, the supercharged XKR was governed to an electronically-limited top speed of 155 mph and included Computer Active Technology Suspension, a new Servotronic steering system, and improved higher-performance brakes. Engine cooling was aided with louvers at both sides of the bonnet (hood), adding a purposeful look along with classically styled Jaguar Supercharged emblems featuring the marques legendary growler motif.

Terms:
Bidders with less than 5 feedbacks must contact us prior to bidding. If you do not contact us, we reserve the right to cancel your bid without notice. Please do not ask our reserve price, simply bid what you are comfortable with.
Your winning bid is a contract to purchase the vehicle, not a "come, look, and negotiate." This is a serious auction for serious buyers only. Please ask all relevant questions prior to bidding. All vehicles are sold as-is. By placing a bid, you are agreeing to these terms of sale.
Winning bidder must communicate with Seller by phone within 24 hours of the end of auction to make arrangements to complete transaction.  If no contact is made, we reserve the right to re-list the vehicle, sell it to the next highest bidder, or sell it otherwise.

Vintage cars in excess of 10 years of age, in most US states, mileage may be recorded as “exempt”. The Last Detail makes no warranties as to the accuracy of the mileage indicated or shown and accepts no responsibility for any discrepancy with independent reports such as CarFax, Autocheck, etc. Unless the vehicle is advertised as an original mileage car, do not assume that the mileage/odometer reading is the actual mileage. It is simply what the odometer is reading at the time pictures are taken. MILEAGE IS NOT ACTUAL UNLESS STATED SO IN THE DESCRIPTION! Vehicles are test driven and mileage may vary at time of sale.
